Alongside Lewisham Citizens, the London Community Land Trust are developing a small garage site on Brasted Close, Lewisham, into genuinely affordable housing. The site is sandwiched between Brasted Close and Carlton Terrace estates, and will have a Community Garden to be used by all residents.
The Brasted Close CLT Resident’s Steering Group is a group of committed local residents who meet regularly to advise on the emerging proposals, and to act as spokespeople for the scheme to rest of the neighbourhood. The Steering Group also has a voice in wider issues such as the allocations criteria for the affordable housing.
Archio met with the Steering Group last week to update on the emerging architectural and landscape scheme. Issues such as parking, building materials and the community garden were top of the agenda.
A decision was also made to hold a community-wide event on Saturday 9th December, on the site, open to everyone!
Please come along to discuss the current design proposals with Lewisham Citizens, London Community Land Trust, Archio (architects) and Kinnear Landscape (landscape architects). More details will be circulated nearer the date.
