We are thrilled to be working with TOWN and Sussex Street Cohousing on the Angel Yard Scheme in Norwich. Archio has long been interested in cohousing as a progressive approach to combatting the housing crisis. Cohousing is proven to create more integrated communities whilst also offering financial and space-saving benefits.
As part of Archio’s design studio at the Bartlett School of Architecture last year; Mellis, Kyle and James visited Brussels, Ghent, Rotterdam and Amsterdam where they visited many cohousing schemes of varying scales. This was a great opportunity to gain a more rounded understanding of cohousing design principles and what qualities makes a successful scheme architecturally. We hope to channel this research as we move into the design stages for Angel Yard.
