There is a huge need for housing in London but there are significant challenges around the impact of development on existing communities. There is an emerging focus on ‘grassroots’ development as a way to address these challenges and put the community first through a combination of consultation, shared spaces and good quality design that can achieve positive density.

Innovations in housing delivery will be presented by Brick by Brick, Bell Phillips, Archio and pH+ as part of a major public forum for the London Festival of Architecture, tackling issues that are relevant for the profession and the general public. The practices will present and discuss a series of community-led and mixed-use developments that make the most of available space within the capital for Londoners as they live and work.

The need for well designed homes in the capital has never been greater and it’s time to turn to new voices in the industry and hear what the future of housing will be how these new models for housing delivery can work.
